It's never too soon to start packing. It's very easy to underestimate the amount of time this takes,
be sure to have enough boxes, newspaper, bubble wrap, tape and markers.
Avoid damage by avoiding boxes and crates without tops! They cannot be packed on a truck safely and we can not be responsible for poor planning. Of course we're not talking about your packing but crazy Aunt Nellie's! We CANNOT transport gasoline and other combustible fuels. We call this less bang for your buck! Free boxes are everywhere (liquor and department stores can't dispose of them fast enough), recycling them helps the environment! Just avoid the ones without tops and try to find a uniform size so they stack well on the truck. Speed up the job! Try not to overload oversized boxes, they tend to break as well as wear down the movers. Boxes requiring two men make your move go more slowly and the movers are more pungent at the end of the day. Measure your doorways and potentially troublesome items before consulting with us! This can save you money and help create a better time estimate. Stairwells, attics and basements often have very tight access. Sometimes we have to lift an item through a window but this can take more time and manpower. So let us know in advance. |
